The Green IT & Green Security Seminar was held on 23 Mar 2009. The seminar was attended by many participants from various industries including construction, property management, banking and Information Technology.
IT is consuming more and more energy in many organisations. As organizations are pressured into reducing their overall energy usage, for cost and environmental reasons, there are a slew of technology solutions spring up including virtualization, cloud computing, VoIP and unified communications. However, harness all these in order for business targets to be achieved and sustainability be attained, a management system approach is required.
In this seminar, we discussed the latest technology developments, trends, issues facing IT managers and the relevant management frameworks. We aim to enhance the performance and operation of the IT department and have a positive impact on the environment at the same time.
